hat Air & Style is for the Innsbruck winter, Crankworx is for
the summer of this year and the next. The mega event of
the mountain biking scene, in its thirteenth year, calls at
Innsbruck for the first time. Thus the capital of the Alps becomes part
of the world tour that, starting out from Rotorua in New Zealand, and
after stopping off at Les Gets in France, moves on to its final stage in
Whistler in Canada. This is a dream come true for the bike city of Inns-
bruck, where the legendary and largest gravity mountain bike festival
is going to find the perfect conditions.
With the new Bikepark Innsbruck at the Muttereralmpark, the sport
city – which came out on top against three other competitors to be
chosen as a venue – will be able to present itself as a world-class host
once more. Gravity Logic, the team of trail design specialists and bike
park developers who have already proven their expertise with the cel-
ebrated Whistler Mountain Bike Park trails, also are responsible for
the Bikepark Innsbruck, where spectacular trails offering breathtak-
ing views of Innsbruck will fascinate athletes and spectators alike. The
park serves as base for the Slopestyle, Dual Speed & Style, and Pump
Track competitions. The Expo and the Demo zones too will be situat-
ed there, while the Downhill competition leads via the new trail to the
neighboring village of Götzens.
